Hello my lovely people! “STREET STYLE”;the term conjures endless images of white, middle-class dandies with too much time and money on their hands, boasting their style credentials from one high street coffee chain to another, itching to run into Scott Schuman from The Sartorialist so they can light a cigarette in an enigmatic and seductive manner. And yet street style is about much more than creatively starved art students who’ve clearly spent hours in front of the mirror practising the obligatory pretentious ‘Street Style Pose’, which usually entails standing on one leg like a contrived flamingo and avoiding looking into the camera so as to create a sense of ‘sprezzatura‘.Rather, as I hope to illustrate throughout this post, street style is an essential force that drives both the high fashion industry and high street trends. More importantly, when done correctly, it can be an art form in itself, reflecting the complex relationship between the world of aesthetics and the real world.Well MAX FASHION INDIA, one of my ongoing associates and a brand which is on the tip of my fingers for picking garments when it comes to street style; made me fall in love with them even more when they shot me a mail briefing about this extravagance. Basically they have been running a contest with Indian bloggers where they have to blog about one street style look from their SS’15 collection. The winner gets a paid trip to Paris (3 days with accommodation) with a VIP pass to one of the four events of the international fashion calendar viz. PARIS FASHION WEEK (tadaaaa) Being a home of some of the largest fashion houses in the world, my love for Paris is eternal. Now coming to my looks for the contest. I have a transitional post with two looks for you’ll. First is a classy go to office look in which I am wearing the white classic fit shirt which can never go wrong with any attire paired with the much spoken of trend joggers which are quite an investment this SS’15. Layering it quite smartly is my black blazer. On my feet are a pair of black shoes which are an every guy’s wardrobe must have.Accessories are next to minimal. Secondly, Denim is the all time cool so I am wearing a denim shorts which is again a big hit this year upon which I have a Paris architectural t-shirt (which has already made me daydream about Paris) On my feet are these very comfortable pair of white trainees from Max which are my all time favorite. So here’s my generous attempt to make way for yet another dream I have on my bucket list currently on the first position. Wish me luck as I ride on to my #MaxRoadToParis and don’t forget to share your reviews with us.
Je t’aime Paris!!
