Who would have thought that this year, a brand most famous for its million lapel- based crocodiles would collaborate with Disney! The Parisian brand celebrated its 85th anniversary, while Disney celebrated its 90th. The result? A collaborative collection of instantly collectable sports-inspired. Lacoste not only came out with a collection fit for the best but, used the best of the best as well. They used innovative technologies like 3D printing and professionally done piqué applications.
True to the characters and designer brand, the colour range of the collection are of conventional shades such as navy blue, white, grey, pale pink and touches of green combined with brighter colours such as a clear blue and red.
My personal favourite is the tennis-inspired polo shirts with an applique Mickey mouse embroidery in the place of the Lacoste’s famous crocodile logo. The mickey mouse is made of a two-ply cotton petit piqué, a two-button ribbed polo collar. Not forgetting the brands identifying classic crocodile logo, it has been placed at the bottom right corner of the shirt.
