CAPTUR-ING COORG.

Hello lovely people!! It’s probably the best time to be car hunting because it’s practically raining SUVs this festive season.

The latest from Renault India, the all new Renault CAPTUR is itself positioned slightly above the DUSTER in the manufacturer’s product portfolio. While it’s only now that the nameplate makes its India debut, the CAPTUR, which was conceived in 2013, is responsible for Renault’s success in the fast-growing SUV segment of many markets across the globe. The CAPTUR, though a global product has a few India first (if not India-only) product specifications. For starters, the ‘Platine’ variant which stands as the top of the line option with the CAPTUR is an India first. With the Platine variant, you get a white + gold interior theme and a few other gadgetry.

Here’s a run down of what I felt is cool about the Renault CAPTUR:

The Strengths

  1. Design Difference

The CAPTUR is clearly not a typical SUV in this space. It’s in fact more like a SUV that’s inspired by a sedan. And it works because there’s no other vehicle in this space that looks like this. The CAPTUR’s design will ensure you get the second look on the street. It has got design elements like floating side indicator, 17” crystal cut alloys which you only see in luxury class SUVs.

  1. Ground Clearance

The CAPTUR boasts of a market leading ground clearance of 210 mm. This makes it the tallest sitting CAPTUR in any market, anywhere in the world. Quite needed for our road conditions, right?

  1. The Interiors

One of the hesitation for not buying a SUV is that SUV’s have very bland, utilitarian interiors. With the CAPTUR, the interior quality is a huge stepup from any other car in the segment. The material is great, the fit and finish is better, the seat leather too is much better.

  1. Space

The CAPTUR is a very spacious vehicle. It’s got a lot of cabin volume and for the rear seats you have good knee room and head room. And Renault finally gives you rear AC vents. Especially perfect for me to make it a vanity while shooting outdoor.

  1. Drive and Handling:

The CAPTUR though it looks like a city car, unleashes the beast inside the moment it steps on a rocky or rough patch. It goes through pits and rocks with ease, thanks to the massive ground clearance of 210 mm and super sturdy suspension.

Earlier in March, I personally had the chance to go off-roading with Renault & experience this car up, close & personal. Must say, that the experience was par excellent. I have totally fallen in love with the car. It launched at an introductory price of INR 9,99,000. Renault CAPTUR creates a unique vehicle class, led by its stunning expressive design, premium & class-leading features, innovative technology, offered at an outstanding price enabling an unmatched value proposition.

About my Staycation with Renault:

We stayed at the Beautiful & serene Taj Spa & hotel, Madikeri ; Coorg. It was indeed a great place to unwind admist nature. On the first night, we had an introduction with fellow bloggers & the Renault CAPTUR. Post which; on the successive day, we had an early morning off roading session. The Renault team was quite cordial. They made sure we had a very very good time. They also took us to explore some nearby hidden gem places of Coorg followed by a party to wind up our staycation. Next day, we gathered for breakfast after which we parted ways only to meet again.

Conclusion on the car: With its stunning design which represents Renault’s new design DNA, Renault CAPTUR delivers on the promise of bringing the best from Renault’s global product range to India. Its expressive design is enhanced by premium & class-leading features and the high levels of personalization that can be achieved to best suit the customers’ preferences. Its definitely a must try for all SUV lovers. Go book your test drive today.
